Date: March 9, 2024, 4:00pm - 7:30pm
Join the Alliance for a delightful evening of French artistic history with Angel Corella’s and Philadelphia Ballet’s Giselle at the Academy of Music. Perhaps the most beloved early Romantic ballet, Giselle is the story of true love, real heartbreak, and the awesome power of forgiveness. Artistic Director Angel Corella’s elegant choreography breathes new life into a timeless tale told on both sides of the grave.
Our event begins at 4:00pm at the Alliance with a light apéro and a pre-show presentation by a member of the company’s artistic leadership. We will learn about the French origination of the ballet. The performance at the Academy of Music begins at 5:30pm, with a run time around two hours. The dancers are accompanied by the impressive Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra, led by Beatrice Jona Affron.
