Alliance Française de Philadelphie, 1420 Walnut Street, Suite 700 |

During her baking class, Sandrine will teach you to bake the staple dessert found on every Christmas table in France: the bûche de Noël
(Yule Log). An easy tasty dessert to make to impress your guests! Two recipes, a sponge cake filled with chocolate ganache, and the
second is a sponge cake filled with vanilla cream and raspberry gelée.
The sponge cake will be ready to be assembled with the chocolate ganache and vanilla cream which you'll make ready to spread and pipe. Then roll the bûche and let's make it pretty!
What you will participate in ?
Prépare the fillings (the chocolate ganache, the vanilla cream, the raspberry gelée)
Roll the sponge cake tight
Finish the Yule log and create that texture like bark
Decorate your bûche
Taste it and go home with the recipe
You will learn the vocabulary of French bakeries and pastry shops with a native speaker.
The class will be in French - Open to all, with a B2 level minimum (intermediate and advanced) in French
The Yule logs will be served during the Alliance Française Winter Party on the same evening so you can enjoy and share with everyone.

Sandrine has been passionate about French Pâtisserie since her younger age. She left a corporate career to spend time with her family, baking and getting her pastry chef diploma in Paris during the pandemic. She moved from France 4 years ago. She founded Canele Bakery @canele_bakery_pa and attends the Growers Market in West Chester twice a month, supplies coffee shops, and is always happy to bake for any occasion (birthday party, wedding, baby shower, gender reveal, etc.)
