For those who could not attend or missed the live entertainment at our Bastille Day dinner in July, we are inviting Jen Fellman and Will Holshouser to perform their set of French songs at the Alliance Française de Philadelphie in a cabaret-style atmosphere.
They will perform traditional Guinguette and Javas songs, Charles Trenet, Fréhel, Maurice Chevalier, Jean Sablon, classic songs from the French repertoire Aznavour, Brel, Piaf, Michel Legrand, Gainsbourg, Zaz
But also songs that celebrate Paris, Cole Porter, Joséphine Baker, Eartha Kitt, Kern & Hammerstein
JEN FELLMAN is a singer, actor and cabaret performer living and working primarily in Philadelphia. She released her Debut
Solo Album FORBIDDEN DRIVE (through Broadway Records Label & Grammy nominated, 12-time Emmy winner,
Producer Michael Croiter) with sold out release concerts at Feinstein's/54 Below. Jen has performed
regularly at various NYC venues including Theatre Row, Don’t Tell Mama, the French Consulate of New York, and Chez Josephine. She has
lived and performed extensively in Paris, France. Venues include the American Embassy in Paris, the Petit Journal Montparnasse, and the
Comédie-Française Theatre. Jen has written two original one-woman shows, FRENCHY (Winner Best
One-Woman Musical - United Solo Theatre Festival NYC), and A SINGER’S CIRCUS (Recipient of the Jilline Ringle Solo
Performance Grant Award, 1812 Productions). She plans to bring her newest solo show TOMBOY to Philadelphia this fall. Lead
musical roles include Clara (The Light in the Piazza) and Luisa (The Fantasticks).
WILL HOLSHOUSER is an accordionist and composer active in New York since the 1990s. His music draws on a wide
variety of inspirations from traditional accordion folk styles to jazz, hymns, classical and experimental music, celebrating the
accordion’s expressiveness and sense of fun. Will’s most recent album The Lone Wild Bird presents his music for solo
accordion. He has made three albums with his own trio as well as collaborative recordings with Dutch trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and with
Musette Explosion, focusing on French musette music. Will has toured and recorded with Regina Carter, David Krakauer, Michael Winograd, and
Antony and the Johnsons, and has also played with The Klezmatics, Suzanne Vega, Martha Wainwright, Loudon Wainwright III, New York City
Ballet, New York City Opera, Saturday Night Live, and others.
