The French Film Series is a partnership between the Alliance Francaise de Philadelphie and Renew Theater with the aim to select and propose
French and francophone films to a wider audience in Ambler and Doylestown Theater. This initiative is supported by the Vesta Fund, based in
the Gwynedd valley in Pennsylvania.
Over the year we will be screening:
- a recent film that won a Cesar or has global recognition
- an Iconic Classic with a lecture
- a film selected by a Guest Programmer who has knowledge of French language cinema
- a Family Friendly event around a film
- a Cult French film
....
This March - Francophonie month, we will be screening THE COUNT OF MONTE-CRISTO (Le Comte de Monte-Cristo), celebrating
the 180th anniversary of Alexander Dumas’ groundbreaking novel.
The Count of Monte Cristo is a French film directed by Alexandre de La Patellière and Mathieu Delaporte. Released in 2024, it had its world
premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival and recieved 14 nominations at the 50th César Awards in 2025. It sold over 9 million admissions
in France, where it was the second highest-grossing film of 2024. The lead role is played by the internationally renowed actor, Pierre
Niney.
Ambler theater does not have a parking lot. However, there are multiple municipal lots offering no-limit parking nearby. There is also 2-hour street parking throughout town. Metered parking is $1/hr and uses quarters and the Flowbird app. All parking between 12-2pm and after 6pm is FREE
