Alliance française de Philadelphie - 1420 Walnut St |
To celebrate La Fête de la Musique, a major cultural event in France held every year on June 21st, the Alliance Française of Philadelphia invites you to a joyful and creative musical workshop dedicated to la chanson française and musical expression.
During this two-hour session, we will explore the richness of French and Francophone music through:
We will pay special attention to the great classics of French chanson that have touched hearts around the world, including legendary artists such as Charles Aznavour and Édith Piaf.
A second workshop will be offered on July 11th for those who want to continue the experience centered around the theme of disco, ending with a French and Francophone karaoke night!
This workshop will be led by Camille Boscher, currently at the Alliance Française of Philadelphia until the end of July.
She is completing her Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) in Bordeaux, where she is writing her thesis on the use of song
in French language instruction. Having taken singing lessons for seven years and learned English largely through music, she is deeply
convinced of the pedagogical and cultural value of singing in a foreign language.
This workshop is an opportunity to discover French from a new perspective—by listening to its melody, playing with its sounds, and engaging with its culture through song.
