Join the Club de Lecture to discuss the book of the month priorly read by all the attendees. Exchange about your emotions, opinions with the
other members and get the opportunity to expand your literary culture and to improve your French!

Le peintre Claude Lantier, personnage central de « L'Oeuvre », déjà apparu dans le « Ventre de Paris », ne voit pas seulement peser
sur lui une hérédité qui le condamne à rester un « génie avorté ». Il est témoin, acteur et victime du profond bouleversement qui secoue
l'art français à partir de l'impressionnisme. En outre - tout comme l'ecrivain Sandoz, autre personnage majeur du roman - l'artiste
angoissé exprime les questions que Zola se pose sur la nature de toute création humaine.
